he Diagnostic Imaging Department is dynamic and innovative, with a commitment to stay at the forefront of technology and clinical applications in today’s changing field of medical imaging. Our latest technology advances include a Toshiba 64-slice CT scanner and installation of a fully digital imaging system, known in the healthcare industry as PACS. No more X-ray film! Services at CMC also include Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). We are pleased to announce that beginning in February 2010, digital mammography will be available.
Carlsbad Medical Center has opened a one-stop, full-service Outpatient Diagnostic Center on the hospital campus. You'll love the convenience of diagnostic testing and women's services under one roof. The center includes a state-of-the-art sleep studies lab and a spacious community education center.
Other procedures offered at the center include mammography, bone density, cardiopulmonary stress screening, outpatient laboratory services, and new diagnostic technology for spine and hip imaging. Outpatient Center lab tests conducted include ultrasound exams, echocardiograms, and vascular studies.
A licensed Radiologic Technologist performs your diagnostic imaging examination. All of our technologists have been educated in anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety, radiation protection and basic patient care. They also specialize in specific imaging techniques, such as bone densitometry, cardiovascular-interventional radiography, computed tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, sonography and general radiography.
Diagnostic imaging performs outpatient examinations from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday. Contact our Outpatient Diagnostic Center registration office at 575-887-4289.
