Volunteer Services
Since 1977, Carlsbad Medical Center Auxiliary volunteers have served our hospital and the community. In 2005 alone, 75 men and women dedicated 12,793 hours of service, with the stated organizational purpose “to render services to the patients of Carlsbad Medical Center and to assist in promoting the health and well-being of the community.”
Auxiliary volunteers offer an invaluable service to our hospital and community. From welcoming patients and hospital visitors to delivering flowers and newspapers, our volunteers take a special interest in the families, patients and employees at Carlsbad Medical Center. CMC volunteers deliver drinks to patients and guests; serve coffee and information to families of surgery patients; take pictures of newborn babies; sell flowers, drinks and gifts in the Auxiliary Gift Shop; and help in the pharmacy. CMC Auxiliary members host an annual book fair, sponsor numerous nursing scholarships, and support Women’s Services and Lifeline monitoring.
