CMC Announces New Pulmonary Care Options

Carlsbad Medical Center and Pecos Valley Physician Group are pleased to announce new options for patients needing pulmonary care, with the arrival of Dr. Michael Lucia to Pecos Valley Pulmonology. Dr. Lucia is a board-certified pulmonary and sleep physician. He earned his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, then completed his residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and a fellowship at Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University.

With nearly 30 of experience and strong ties to medical education, Dr. Lucia will be seeing patients via telemedicine through CMC’s collaboration with Access Physicians, a group that works with outpatient clinics to build customized telemedicine programs to bring needed specialists to underserved areas, allowing patients to receive specialty medical care without having to leave their community.

Dr. Lucia treats patients with conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema, lung infections, lung cancer, lymphoma, pulmonary vascular disease, pleural diseases, pneumonia, sleep disorders and more.
